Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is based on the notion that our thoughts, feelings and emotions are all connected up, part of the system that makes each of us unique. If you change one connection this has an effect on the rest of the system. So, for instance, if I want to eat better (Behaviour) to lose weight I can begin to think (Cognitive) more positively about how well I'll look; this will make me more optimistic (Emotion) about losing weight and will motivate me to eat healthier food.
 
CB Hypnotherapy takes these ideas one step further. The therapist will work with you to identify your negative thoughts, feelings and actions. They will then help you to look at the upside, the positive side, of these; and then while you are in a Hypnotic state the therapist will use this enhanced suggestibility to enable you to accept and retain these positive beliefs.
